To make your website live, you need to connect your domain name to your hosting account. This is done by updating your nameservers or by managing your domain’s DNS records.

Step 1: Find Your Nameservers

  • You can find your hosting account’s nameservers in your welcome email or in your client area.
  • If hosted on cPanel:
    • ns1.simplisticnode.com
    • ns2.simplisticnode.com
  • If hosted on DirectAdmin:
    • ns1.unifiedns.io
    • ns2.unifiedns.io

Step 2: Update Your Domain

  • Log in to the company where you purchased your domain (e.g., GoDaddy, Namecheap, etc.).
  • Go to Domain Management → Nameservers.
  • Replace the existing nameservers with the ones provided by us.
  • Save your changes.
⚠️
If you have purchased a domain from SimplisticNode directly, the nameservers will automatically be set to our cPanel hosting node.

Step 3: Wait for Propagation

  • DNS changes usually take a few hours, but can take up to 24–48 hours to fully update worldwide.
  • You can check the progress of the propagation by visiting https://whatsmydns.net and entering your domain name and selecting NS from the dropdown.

Option 2: Using Custom DNS Records

If you prefer to keep your domain’s nameservers with your registrar or a DNS provider such as CloudFlare, you can point your domain to us with A Records and CNAMEs.

Step 1: Find Your Hosting Server IP

  • Log in to your client area or check your welcome email for your hosting server’s IP address.

Step 2: Update DNS Records at Your Registrar

  • Log in to your domain registrar.
  • Find DNS Management / Advanced DNS.
  • Add or update the following records:

Record Type Host Value TTL
A Record @ Your Hosting IP Auto
A Record www Your Hosting IP Auto

(Replace “Your Hosting IP” with the actual IP from your welcome email.)

Step 3: Save & Propagation

  • Save the changes.
  • As with nameservers, DNS propagation can take up to 24–48 hours.

Troubleshooting

  • Site not working after 24 hours? → Double-check the records and clear your browser cache.
  • Email not working? → Make sure you’ve added the correct MX records for email hosting.
  • Sub-domain not working? → Make sure you’ve added the correct DNS record to your DNS controller.
  • Still stuck? → Open a support ticket and we’ll help you configure it.
